Build Confidence. Develop Skills. Push Your Limits.
The Bluewood Ski & Snowboard Team’s Snowboarding Program provides young riders with a fun, supportive, and challenging environment to develop their skills, build confidence, and discover a lifelong passion for snowboarding.
Our experienced coaches focus on strong riding fundamentals, balance, edge control, terrain awareness, freestyle progression, and competitive development. Through age-appropriate instruction and individualized coaching, athletes build the technical skills and confidence to explore new terrain, improve their riding, and challenge themselves safely.
Our program welcomes developing snowboarders ages 6–14, with coaching tailored to each athlete’s ability, experience, and individual goals.
Foundational Development: Beginning riders focus on balance, controlled turns, edge control, mountain awareness, and building confidence across varied terrain.
Intermediate Progression: As riders advance, they develop stronger carving techniques, freestyle fundamentals, terrain park skills, and the ability to navigate increasingly challenging terrain.
Advanced & Competitive Development: Experienced riders refine their technical skills, develop consistency, and prepare for competitive opportunities. Training emphasizes freestyle progression, competition readiness, strategic decision-making, and performing confidently under pressure.
For athletes interested in taking their snowboarding to the next level, our program introduces the excitement of competitive snowboarding in a positive and supportive environment.
Riders have opportunities to prepare for and participate in appropriate local and regional competitions, based on ability, readiness, and event availability. Coaches help athletes understand competition formats, develop individual goals, build confidence, and learn how to perform under competitive conditions.
Competition is encouraged as an opportunity for personal growth rather than solely focusing on results. We emphasize sportsmanship, perseverance, teamwork, and celebrating individual progress.
Whether an athlete wants to become a stronger recreational rider, develop freestyle skills, or pursue competitive snowboarding, our goal is to provide a clear pathway for progression.
Our Goal: To develop confident, capable, and independent snowboarders who embrace challenges, support their teammates, and develop a lifelong love of the mountain.
